Course Overview
A Teaching Assistant Apprentice forms a pivotal role in supporting a young person’s development, working alongside the lead teacher to enhance pupils’ learning, either in groups or individually, ensuring that pupils thrive in a positive, nurturing, safe environment.
This apprenticeship provides transferable skills such as the ability to keep children safe, communication, planning, health and safety for children, the ability to monitor children’s behaviour, and underpinning the delivery of the national curriculum.
The aim of this qualification is to give the learners the knowledge, skills, and behaviours, to support the class teacher to enhance pupils’ learning, ensure that pupils understand the work set, know their learning objectives and stay on task in order to make progress. This is a school-based role, and could be in the primary, special or secondary education sector.
