Course Overview

A school administrator allows for participation in the day to day running of any school office forming the cornerstone of any school or multi academy trust (MAT). This apprenticeship provides transferable skills including administration, communication, IT and customer service, which can be utilised across a broad spectrum of future roles.

The aim of this qualification is to contribute to the skills, knowledge and overall performance of school administration for the learner. It provides an insight into the principles and processes of administration and can give an in-depth understanding of the school sector in which the apprentice is working.

Qualification Achieved

On completion of this Apprenticeship, you will hold a level 3 Apprenticeship in Business Administration. Additional qualifications achieved include:

  • Level 2 Functional Skills Mathematics
  • Level 2 Functional Skills English

Progression

The role may act as a gateway to further career and training opportunities, including, but not limited to:

  • School Team Leader Level 3
  • School Senior Administrator
  • School Office Manager

Learning & Assessment

Each apprentice will have their own dedicated tutor who will conduct monthly remote tutorials and reviews, providing continuous support throughout the apprenticeship program. Depending on the apprentice’s needs, the frequency of these sessions may vary.

Additionally, each learner will be paired with a workplace mentor who will collaborate with the tutor and learner, offering expertise and guidance to facilitate skill development.

The mentor will provide support, constructive feedback, and assist in various tasks the learner will undertake, such as:

  • Knowledge assignments
  • Case studies
  • Reports
  • Reflective accounts
  • Professional discussions
  • Workplace witness testimonies
  • Observations, either onsite or remote, will be conducted by the tutor as required by the course.

End Point Assessment

Each Apprentice must undergo an independent end-point assessment to determine the outcome of their apprenticeship. The assessments will assess the knowledge, skills and behaviours gained during their programme. The methods in which this apprenticeship are assessed are:

  • Knowledge Test
  • Portfolio Interview
  • Project Presentation

Individual employers may set their own criteria for this apprenticeship.

Hire an Apprentice

We can work with you to source a suitable applicant for your organisation or you can up-skill your existing employees. If the employee is under 19 and your business has fewer than 50 employees, there will be no cost for the training. If they are over 19 and/or your business has over 50 employees then you will contribute 5% towards the cost of the training. For any businesses paying into the levy, all training costs will be covered.
