Course Overview
The School and Community Activator Apprenticeship promotes, delivers and coaches fun, inclusive, and engaging physical activities. These activities help the whole school and wider community to change their behaviour and adopt and sustain physically active lifestyles.
The aim of the qualification is to create a positive role model who builds a good rapport with pupils and parents – especially those who are inactive, or from low-income and marginalised families. Activators will work alongside staff, parents, youth workers, the police, and community safety agencies to make schools and their surrounding communities safer, fitter and healthier.
When competent, activators will be experienced working with a range of different settings and with a variety of participants. They will also have the knowledge, skills and behaviours to make schools, communities and lives better through physical activity, structured play, and school sport.
